Day Services & Structured Activities

Riverdale Place Workshop provides structured day services that offer consistency, purpose, and social engagement. Daily activities are designed to support skill development, encourage participation, and promote independence while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Participants benefit from routine, positive encouragement, and opportunities to build confidence at their own pace.

Vocational Training & Meaningful Work

Participants engage in hands-on vocational activities that develop practical skills and work habits, including:

  • Creation of small wooden crafts like birdhouses, porch leaners and signs which includes sanding and painting.
  • Small woodworking projects such as picnic tables
  • Assembly, sorting, and production tasks

These activities help participants develop responsibility, teamwork, time management, and pride in their work.

Recycling Services

Riverdale Place Workshop provides curbside pickup of recyclable materials in Arborg and Riverton, offering an essential service to the community.

Participants play an active role in collection, sorting, and processing recyclables, gaining valuable work experience while contributing to environmental sustainability. This program builds responsibility and strengthens community connection.

Creative Programs & Storefront

Creativity is an important part of life at Riverdale Place Workshop. Participants take part in sewing and craft activities, producing items that are available for purchase through our store.

We also offer plastic flowers for floats, providing a unique service to the community while giving participants meaningful involvement in preparation, organization, and presentation.

Social & Recreational Activities

In addition to work-based programming, Riverdale Place Workshop offers a variety of social and recreational activities that promote well-being and connection, including:

• Cooking and meal preparation
• Music and drama activities
• Mini-excursions and community outings
• Parties and celebrations with community members

These experiences help build friendships, communication skills, and confidence in social settings.

Support for Independent Living

Riverdale Place Workshop supports participants in developing skills that contribute to greater independence in daily life. Through guided activities and encouragement, participants learn skills related to:

• Daily routines and responsibility
• Social interaction and communication
• Decision-making and self-advocacy
• Community navigation and participation
